Signing Off...?

Well I hope that this isn't my last blog post.... but I have come to the conclusion that there are two types of people in the world - those that host blogs and those that post to blogs. I'm not ready to switch to the Internet as my main entertainment source. I tried a lot of things to try and remember to post to my blog. Even a alarm reminder on my cell phone couldn't free me up to post every day. I usually don't get a chance to sit down until around 10 at night. The last thing I want to do is sit down again at the computer...but I do appreciate the wealth of information that is out there in the Universe of blogs. Keep it up to the committed bloggers.. in the next few years I hope to be one of the converted! As for work, the marketing possibilities are endless. I know that I'll take what I learned in this class and bring the communications team online... but after 9-5 I can't guarantee anything:)

Where's the sun?

OK so I know I have no right to complain. I'm sure it's in the 40s somewhere on the east coast but I feel like winter is officially here. How are you supposed to enjoy a weekend when the sun sets at 5? We've been so luck with a warm November. I'm dusting off my scarfs as we speak...

Christmas Diverted

Took 15 minutes of my day to divert Christmas gifts to a family at a local homeless shelter. Highly recommend it to the masses. Feel much better about the holidays... sorry family and friends but everyone in my life is so blessed I think you'll understand. Let me know if you want more information on how to do the same:)

Reality Check... You've got it good

So at the end of loooooong work week I commiserated with a fellow mom over the perils of taking groceries into the house at the end of a long work day.

Only another mom will really get why this would even be a source of complaint. But then I saw this...

Yes, being a working mom sucks sometimes, but I've got it good.

A new direction

Ok so maybe I'm a bit slow. It just occurred to me that my blog is lacking direction. I'll have to spend some time this weekend thinking about where I want this all to go. I'm hesitant to write a bunch of crap. These things are kind of like a new age memoir.

Although... it's been nice having a sounding board for random thoughts and complaints. That's a direction I suppose... but only worth it if they're funny!

It's now reality. I was wondering the halls of Target at 9:30 last night and sure enoung, there it was.... 4 aisles of Christmas decorations. Every year this happens to me. I'm stressing about what half-edible dish I can bring to Thanksgiving and all of a sudden some catalog or retail store adds to the drama with Christmas. Once again I never started the Chrismas fund that every Jan 1 I swear I'm going to start.

So now that I've got a 13 month old to drag along to do Christmas shopping, how will that change the game plan. I think this will be the year I put my foot down. No gifts. I'm adoping a family from a local charity.
